The state Republican Party's executive committee voted 22-1 in support of embattled Chairman Steve House on Friday after a marathon closed-door session.

The party has been in turmoil since last week, when state Attorney General Cynthia Coffman, former Congressman Tom Tancredo and Pueblo County Party Chairwoman Becky Mizel reversed their backing and asked House to resign. Coffman, Tancredo and Mizel met with House at the Warwick Hotel on June 15. In the meeting, the trio told him they had "grave concerns" about his trustworthiness and statements he was making that could subject the party to lawsuits.
When House asked if they had any other concerns, Coffman said: "Julie," an apparent reference to an alleged extramarital affair.
